Hello, my name is Javier Ju, and I am an aspiring software engineer based in Hyogo, Japan. My journey into software development started while working as an international sales professional in the manufacturing industry. With over 15 years of experience in global business, I have worked in Korea, Mexico, Guatemala, and the United States, gaining strong expertise in communication, project management, and problem-solving. I am fluent in Korean (native), business-level Japanese and English, and conversational Spanish.
I became interested in software development while leveraging IT tools such as DOMO and BOX in my work. Also My curiosity led me to explore IoT projects using Arduino, where I built a self-watering system for my plants as a hobby. This hands-on experience sparked my passion for programming and problem-solving, motivating me to make a career transition into software engineering.
Currently, I am focusing on full-stack web development with JavaScript, TypeScript, Node.js, and React, while also exploring cloud technologies such as AWS and DevOps tools like Git. I am actively learning through Udemy courses and self-study with books, documenting my progress in this portfolio and sharing insights through my blog.
My experience in international sales has equipped me with strong analytical skills, adaptability, and the ability to manage complex projects—qualities that I believe will be valuable as a software engineer. I am excited about the endless possibilities in tech and am eager to build scalable, efficient, and impactful solutions.
Feel free to explore my portfolio, check out my personal projects, and follow my learning journey!
Methodology: I aim for a well-rounded and thorough self-education. I reference this frontend roadmap, this backend roadmap, and Harvard's Unofficial Guide to CS as syllabi to guide me on what topics to cover and the order in which to complete them.
Among the various educational resources, each fulfills a purpose based on its strength. I use Udemy for learning the basics of full-stack web development, eDX and Coursera for learning computer science fundamentals and advanced software engineering, and books to deepen my knowledge in specific subjects. I have chosen the specific courses and texbooks based on recommendations from numerous sources.
